Of night and light and the half light
'Of night and light and the half light'. Inspired by the words of the poem;
Aedh, wishes for the cloths of heaven.'
Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
By W. B. Yeats.
Each title has been taken from the words of the poem and the music has been inspired by those words. Each track speaks differently and reflects my own appreciation for what the words mean to me. It is a reflective yet strong album utilising a full string quintet, electronics, piano and solo violin.
